πŸ“€ Share Office-Wide

Share complete toolbar configurations including Dynamo scripts, ready-to-use tools, custom icons, descriptions, scheduling settings, and package dependencies across your entire organization with simple two-click export/import functionality that ensures consistent automation workflows office-wide.
Available at NonicaTab Pro.

Overview

Deploying standardized automation workflows across multiple workstations traditionally requires manual configuration on each computer, leading to inconsistent setups and time-consuming deployment processes. The Share Dynamo Scripts feature addresses this by providing comprehensive export/import capabilities that bundle complete toolbar configurations into single .nonica files. This includes not only Dynamo scripts and ready-to-use tools but also custom icons, descriptions, scheduling information, keyboard shortcuts, and automatically detected package dependencies, enabling instant deployment of fully configured automation environments across unlimited workstations with just two clicks.

Key Capabilities

This feature provides:

  • Complete Configuration Export: Bundle all toolbar profiles (36 buttons total), scripts, tools, icons, descriptions, and settings into single .nonica/.ntab files.
  • Automatic Package Detection: Automatically scan and include all Dynamo package dependencies required by exported scripts.
  • Universal Import: Deploy complete toolbar configurations to any computer with instant setup and package resolution.
  • Zero Developer Skills Required: Share both custom Dynamo scripts and ready-to-use tools without requiring development knowledge on target computers.

Requirements

Before using this feature, ensure your environment meets the following prerequisites:

Autodesk Revit: From version 2020 to newest.
NonicaTab: NonicaTab Pro.

note

For large teams, use the Connect feature to update many toolbars remotely in one go.
If packages are incompatible across different Revit versions, they wonΒ΄t be imported. It is recommended to create one toolbar per Revit version. NonicaTab Pro allows to have an independent toolbar configuration for each Revit version.

FAQ

Everything gets exported: all 36 buttons across Default/Beta/Gamma profiles, Dynamo scripts, ready-to-use tools, custom icons, descriptions, names, scheduling information, keyboard shortcuts, playlists, and automatically detected Dynamo package dependencies. It's a complete automation environment in a single file.

When exporting, NonicaTab scans all included Dynamo scripts and automatically detects which packages they require. These packages are bundled with the export file, so when someone imports your toolbar on a new computer, all missing packages are automatically resolved without manual installation.

Yes, the export/import system works seamlessly with both custom Dynamo scripts and NonicaTab's ready-to-use tools. Recipients don't need developer skills or script knowledge - they get fully functional buttons for both types of automation with the same simple import process.

The import process replaces the current toolbar configuration with the imported one. If users want to preserve existing setups, they should export their current configuration first as a backup before importing new toolbars.

The export process captures the complete toolbar state including all profiles (Default, Beta, Gamma). While you can't export individual profiles, you can configure only the specific profiles you want to share before exporting, leaving others empty.

No, there's no limit. Once you have a .nonica/.ntab export file, you can deploy it to unlimited workstations. The process scales from individual sharing to enterprise-wide deployment, making it suitable for teams of any size. For large teams, use Connect.
